Chris Metcalf, president of Metcalf Homes Inc. & High Ridge Homes inc., began working at a very early age along side his father, Frank H. Metcalf III, president of Fayette Marble & Construction Inc. At age nine Chris assisted his father in the construction of their personal home in Fayetteville. Chris was always on the job site with his father as he was growing up learning hard work & dedication. While in high school, Chris would ride the bus to Woolsey, in South Fayette County where he worked with his father in the construction of a multi-million dollar home that was featured in Southern Living's Home Magazine and their Tour of Homes in 1990. At age sixteen, Chris chose to take advantage of the work program offered at Fayette County High School. Each day, Chris left school early and continued working along side his father on various construction jobs including single family homes & commercial office buildings. After graduating high school, Chris continued to learn through his father exactly how to construct homes from start to finish. Frank & Chris began constructing another multi-million dollar home and dock on Lake Spivey in Jonesboro, GA.
After spending all these years working with his father, Chris knew he wanted a career in home building and decided to start his own company. In 1995 Chris began building homes in Barrington Farms, a subdivision located in Sharpsburg, GA where he built homes for five years. In 2000 he started in a new subdivision in Fayetteville, GA called Autumn Glen. While building in Autumn Glen, Chris also took on the responsibility of becoming the superintendent for Corbin & Ray Homes. He was responsible for the construction of homes in Autumn Glen for Metcalf Homes Inc and Corbin & Ray Homes. Chris also built several custom homes in Fayette & Coweta Counties during this time including his own personal home & a personal home & shop for his parents. In 2002, Chris began building in Kensington Estates in Sharpsburg, GA and in 2003 he began building in Whisper Creek located in Senoia, GA. Chris has since built homes in Twin Lakes & Willowbend in Senoia, GA, Sutherland Farms in Fayetteville, GA and a million dollar home on Lake Martin in Dadeville, AL. Magnolia Place off of Rockhouse Rd in Senoia, GA is fully developed and sold. Currently Chris has been building custom homes in the surrounding counties.
Chris has always been involved in all details & aspects of the building process, from clearing the lot to the final building inspection. Today, Chris is still involved in the total completion of the homes & projects, from meeting with the home buyer before construction to presenting the keys at closing & following up with a one year builder warranty or a 2-10 home warranty. Frank is retired & currently works for Chris just as Chris did with Frank so many years ago. Between the two of them, they have an abundance of knowledge & experience in building residential & commercial. Now, Chris' son Chase, helps with the construction of these custom homes, as well as going to Kennesaw State University majoring in Construction Management.
